Billy Barham of Southeast Guilford shot 73 followed by Harold Varner of Gastonia Forestview and J.T. Poston of Hickory who both shot 74.

Nelson Nance and Griffith Chandler shot 78 for the Bulldogs while Jefferson Ellington and Saxton Nicholson both shot 81. Al Lunsford shot 83 for Williams.

"We're in great position," Cole said. "They've just got to focus, relax and play their games. Everybody's got to pitch in and cut some numbers."
